My husband and I had been planning a trip to Italy to do some cycling. At the suggestion of friends, we decided to include the Prosecco region as a nice relaxing way to cap off our stay. A couple of wineries, we had wanted to visit, were within easy walking distance from our accommodations, but we also knew the DOCG region offered up so many more. After finding Jo’s blog ‘Visit Prosecco Italy’, we immediately made contact to see if Oriana might be available on one of the dates. We were so thankful she could accommodate a 4-hour private tour (which went by too quickly!). Oriana knows her stuff!! She was punctual, personable, welcoming, humorous … and she shared her love of the region, as a true local. We were introduced to some wonderful wineries, enjoyed the nuances of Prosecco wines – sweetness, growing conditions (soil/sun/hills), etc., and picked up a few bottles to re-live and toast our experience, upon returning home.
