Wow – I can’t say enough good things about the experience with our driver, Alessio. He worked very hard to ensure that we had informative and enjoyable visits at many local wineries. Over two days, we visited 6 total wineries. From the beginning, Alessio communicated with us to understand what we were looking for (we wanted to visit wineries, next time we’ll visit sites!), what kind of winery experiences, and our time frame. He curated visits that exceeded expectations. In particular, when you visit wineries, you often hear about the prosecco wine making tradition, history of the area and many other pieces of information about the region and wine making. While we didn’t realize it until more than half way into our trip, he organized visits where the information session and tours all complemented each other one. While each visit had a tour and talk, the talks all seemed to cover different informational parts. It really was comprehensive (and what we were looking for).
The communication and payment process was easy and straightforward. While you might save a little money renting your own car and driving around yourself, I think that this service actually does offer tremendous value — you get local knowledge, admission into wineries that you might not ordinarily be able to book, get to dictate your travel plans (Alessio brought us to dinner late night and back to our hotel, stopped at a castle for us to check out and went to the vending machines near cartizze for no extra charge), and get a local who is proud of his home to show you around.
We would use this service again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our trip to the Prosecco Region so memorable.
